Space Invader Mosaic - Borough High Street

Borough High Street
The tube was *packed* again today, so everyone is definitely back at work (worse luck), still, by taking my secret shortcut to the Borough High Street entrance I spotted a little art installation high up on the wall above this railway bridge -
Space Invaders Attack London - Mosaic
- (click that picture to enlarge the image and you'll be able to see) it's a tiny mosiac, playing on the iconic "I (heart) NY", but instead spelling out "I (space invader) LDN", a touch harsh, perhaps...even if the tube network might deserve a bit of hot plasma, there are some nice other bits worth saving... ;)

Well spotted, somebody hates London.......

It's quite a lovely installation, just surprised anyone could get away with that kind of cheeky behaviour in Central London considering the CCTV coverage...

There's a few of those scattered around in London and elsewhere. one in Broadwick St, Soho, one off Jermyn St as well.

I first noticed some of these space invader mosaics in Paris about 5 years ago. There are now more and more in London, Southwark Bridge, the Dragon Bar near Old St. See www.space-invaders.com for more about this urban artist.
