...on the edge of a London Park!  Can't help but think of a certain episode of Fawlty Towers... ;)

The worst graffiti in Wapping...

...is now outside Thomas More Square...put there by a bunch of grown men in broad daylight...! ;)  I much prefer the efforts in Swedenborg Gardens by the kids (in chalk) -

Tiny sign at Tower Bridge...

I spotted this the other day, right down at the bottom just beyond the glass back wall of the lift, really, unless you were looking extremely hard (as I guess I do), there is no way you would ever notice it (addressing no-one in particular) tucked away in the corner with no obvious way to reach it -

- here is a view of the space it points towards (from the lift when at the top) - you can see to get to it would require you to basically tip-toe along the wall at the side of the Thames -

- and a shot from the bottom (it's pointing at two square yards of paving slabs - and a few leaves - positioned behind the metal structure of the lift machinery)...so what is so important?  It's basically saying - if - by a grand demonstration of river-side acrobatics - you have managed to actually get to the sign to read it - that you shouldn't have - these 10 paving slabs are not a public right of way...as if you needed telling...completely pointless!

Thomas made his own lunchtime snack...

...on Saturday, a warm tortilla wrap face, composed of Cheddar hair, Camembert eyebrows, Chorizo eyes (with BBQ sauce pupils), cherry tomato ears, a pickled gherkin nose, crispy bacon mouth and a Halloumi tongue...!

Very artistic -and- tasty... ;)

Evidence of improvement at London Bridge!

Well, there we go, the trains haven't managed to run on time (those happy few that managed to start running at all without being cancelled), but at least at London Bridge there are some tiny signs of improvement (at least for those who have no idea where they are going - which may speed things up for the rest of us during rush hour - once we are *off* the delayed trains and back onto foot power) - here you can see the nice, new colour coded "Follow me" lines (like out of Ender's Game) to hand-hold folk to where they need to be without raising their eyes from the pavement (in order to notice all the existing signs on the walls)...

I can just feel the rail network coming together...with this and the confusing footprints they spray painted onto the escalators, things are sure to improve!

Ho Ho Ho...Christmas Party Aftermath...

So, while all those who attended the Christmas party last night are creeping around their homes as quiet as mice (not having made it into the office as yet, if at all) - all those of us who didn't are here enjoying the *huge* free breakfast laid out (I'm guessing) *primarily* to soak up their (sadly absent) woes - a multitude of sticky cakes, croissants and pastries, a legion of bagels (largely salmon/egg/cream cheese related but some ham and cheese affairs) and a horde of *hot* muffins (sausage and egg, egg and mushroom or bacon and egg from the looks of things, but there were so many I gave up going through the piles)...yeah, I took a proper tummy-full...mountains left for the casualties (although they will probably all be congealed and cold by then - he says, licking the liquid egg yolk from his fingers)... ;)

Update - Can this be true?  A *mountain* of McDonalds has just arrived in the office also...I'm not going to need to eat for the rest of the year at this rate!!

War and Peace (or "More" and "Please")...

So the current little bit of linguistic reasoning being played out in Thomas' mind is to establish precisely what the difference is between "More" and "Please", they are being interchanged experimentally (and somewhat successfully), offered the chance to come into the kitchen to see me prepare his breakfast (on Sunday) I got a correctly applied combination of both - "More See Peeeeeze - Steps! Hup!" (as he couldn't really see what I was doing from the floor, and he knew the solution, his little set of folding steps, which he was rewarded with for being so polite)...but on most other occasions, at the moment it's (for example) "More Bilk Daddy!", "You would like some more Milk, Thomas?", "What's the magic word?"...(he thinks for a moment)...

...and explains to Daddy that Spiders (of course) have 8 "tails" rather than legs (it was rather obvious when I had actually had it pointed out to me)... ;)

Heheh, just had to post this after Flyingpops sent me an SMS earlier - apparently this morning, for the first time ever, she caught Thomas counting (all by himself), picking up and stacking his little stacking cups he said (after each cup was successfully placed) - "One!"..."Two!"..."Three!"..."Nine!"... ;)

At least he has managed to master the general idea... :)
