Fink's Links #52

Made it! One whole year of links! Well, actually I'm technically just under that figure as in the first week I got a bit carried away, but hey, who's counting (well, apart from me obviously)...regardless, going through this process has (not only been, hopefully, of some amusement for others, but also) been of great use to me on a number of occasions when in conversation - chipping in with an "oh, I saw x that was really similar/related on the internet", being able to then very quickly find my link and say "Here, check out this URL" (followed by appropriate noises of appreciation/wonder/revulsion)...so, my nod to when "blogs" were actually "Web logs", has actually proved useful (to me anyway)...and thus, I continue -

Starting with a startling art installation of a beached sperm whale spotted in the Netherlands (it's really made of wood and aluminium, just in case you were worried) (pic)...

Find that in Soviet Russia, Cat Laughs out loud at you!

Explore this amazing abandoned communist amphitheatre (pics)...

A safe for work snap entitled "oh shit" (pic)...

A rather good tornado capture (pic)...

"Every time it occurred, the astronauts informed Mission Control, who then ordered absolute silence"...

These two boxen (from back in the day) store 4.4Mb each...so in modern terms that's one digital photograph on the left-hand one, and one MP3 on the right-hand one...then "Disk full"...can you imagine? (pic)

Find out what it's like to be a bit of sushi (video)...

Russian icicles of brick (an abandoned fortress used to test Napalm use indoors)...scary and creepy (pics)...

A rather impressive motorcycle stunt (video)...thanks Tommo...!

Check out what NASA's project constellation have been up to (pics)...

The eventual winners of the "Family who can sit still the longest" competition...(only kidding)... ;) (pic)

Missing the snow? Didn't manage to get out with your sledge? No problem, all summer sledging is now possible with the Slicer...! (pics and video)

...and finally, a hilarious "Child care fail" and an excellent "Covert security fail"...

If you like this sort of thing, my previous link can be found over here...!

Have a great weekend!! :)
