...last week, today's commute, instead of starting with the drive into Redhill, finding a parking space (or paying £4.50 for the day in the station car park), walking to the station and fighting along the crowded platform to cram onto a packed train with everyone else, started with parking at Earlswood station (a 5 minute drive), *free* parking even in the station car park, a deserted platform (comparitively) and choosing a seat...and the train tickets are the same price as Redhill too...
Unfortunately I do still have to change at Redhill (or East Croydon) to pick up my Kings Cross train, and my journey home will still involve getting off at Redhill and getting on the bus, but it slices about 20 minutes off the journey *in* to work at least...
