Well, here we go, the result of about 30 minutes effort last Saturday morning (in the blazing sunshine), two little propagators filled with fresh compost and liberally laced with tiny seeds (namely oregano, sweet basil, rocket, chives and parsley (which involved soaking the seeds overnight for some reason))...so now we wait...! I have no idea how often I have to water them, but they certainly don't *look* like they are drying out (and it wasn't even *close* to warm this morning when I took the picture)...
