Large Spiders...

...it's seriously foggy today (tail end of the hurricane meant loads of rain yesterday) -
Cobwebs #1
- and all the extra morning moisture has (as well as seriously curtailing visibility) highlighted quite how many eight legged guests are squatting in the garden...there have been several news stories circulating recently saying that the warm late summer (and the resultant proliferation of crane fly) has been perfect conditions for the development of large arachnid -
Cobwebs #4
- I think I counted 10 in all (and our garden isn't massively huge) -
Cobwebs #2
- thankfully they seem content to sit outside and not come wandering around the house, if they did, they would probably end up in the vacuum cleaner (with prejudice, rather than by accident)...

It's that time of year where spiders start bonking apparently, which is why there's a silly amount of them.

One HUGE bugger scuttled across me as I lay in bed last week. I almost threw my tea over the wall, shrieking like a girl.

You know, after my two furry eight-legged pals I thought I was over being freaked by spiders but we get some big buggers here, much more so thatn the lodge.

Just to let everyone know, Tom once left a discarded tarantula skin in the cardboard box on my office desk and nearly killed me by fatal heart attack...
